Be Psychic was my school in Singapore, serving Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia. It is based on the tools and techniques taught at the Berkeley Psychic Institute that was founded by Lewis S Bostwick.
The tools and techniques are all about finding and owning oneself. Intuition and Psychic abilities are basically the natural abilities inherent in everyone. For many they are overly sensitive and for some they are numb, but the techniques basically help everyone by making it easy and safe to be in touch with one's inner voice and sensitivity. So whether a person is simply looking to have a greater control over ones life or if they wish to development themselves, the techniques are a god send.
I had started one other school previously in the California, USA, which I left in the care of one of my assistance after 1 year of operation. Both schools have since closed, but my Singapore school taught over 2000 people how to meditate, ground, de-energize, release, find their center and space and to heal themselves.
I started by offering Clairvoyant Aura Readings, which are session where I look into the person and tell them about themselves, the things influencing their lives and answer their questions on topics that they ask about. I also began offering meditation instruction. Using a technique known as "energy meditation", which uses neutral energy from the earth and the universe while doing simple sitting meditation.
After some time I rented an office space by the hour to teach group classes. Eventually I had requests to teach a Clairvoyant Reading course. For this I sublet space from an NLP organization, they graciously allowed me to keep my brochures at the space there. My first clairvoyant class in Singapore was 6 people, 1 of which dropped out half way through. The other 5 continued on to be junior staff for the first few years of our operation.
An interesting thing about teaching Clairvoyance, which is using the mind's eye to see into people, situation and truth, is that it causes big changes in the people who learn to use it. These changes generally have to do with the person getting to know themselves better and having a better understanding of why they are in there body and in their current life. It only took about 5 weeks before there was a big stir in the NLP center where we were conducting our classes. The director of the NLP school began to worry we were going to take all their students, because many of their student began to sign up for our beginning meditation and healing courses. More over, our work was effecting the people in the school causing them to open up clairvoyantly. For the most part this meant either people were very curious or very unhappy with us. It is not uncommon for people who are not ready to grow to resistant others that are growing especially at such a rapid pace. I knew at that point we would have to get our own office.
8 months after I started teaching our first clairvoyant class, we obtained a lease at Paradise Center in Singapore. We were way up on the 7th floor, which unfortunately was well away from any foot traffic and people generally had a hard time finding our office who were coming for the first time. But it worked out well for the first year of operation. It was a large space which I divided into 3 areas using high partitions, which didn't do much for privacy but did allow us to run a few readings or classes at the same time.
I recruited my wife to teach beginning Healing techniques class, and one of the second clairvoyant class graduates to teach beginning female creative energy classes. I was lucky that I had been previous in a relationship with a women who had taught the female classes so I also knew a bit about how these were to be taught. I only had to teach women about their own creative energy for the first class session with my new budding female teacher assisting me, after that she took over as the senior women's teacher.
For the most part all of the classes we taught were exactly the same as what I had learned and taught at the Berkeley Psychic Institute, I had been very uncomfortable with changing anything too much. The things I did change were the class lengths, which became 6 week classes instead of the eight week taught at the BPI. This was because I found Singaporeans to be fairly impatient and many did not like to commit for more that 6 weeks. I have found out since that BPI also shorten their classes to 6 weeks, and then later to 4 weeks long. Shorter classes meant higher turnover of students and more entry points into the classes which made sense business-wise. I think that 4 weeks is actually too short, I prefer the students spend enough time in the classroom that what they learn becomes second nature and they are less likely to forget what they learned. For our clairvoyant classes we ran a 3 month cycle of entry, with a 6 month cycle to graduate. By dividing the 6 month program into 2 parts that gradually built on previous weeks concepts, we were able to make the time-frame work quite well. In addition we have five advanced 6-week courses for graduates of the clairvoyant course on topics such a relationship, future, family, money/business and mediumship reading.
By the time our little school was 4 years old we had to move again to a larger space, this time into Peninsula Plaze in the downtown Singapore business area. The space was actually smaller but divided into 2 classroom spaces with a small area at the front for reception.
We had this young lady named Nadine who was the daughter of some friends of mine who ran a Releasing School. She took some of the beginning classes and was very keen, so I offered her a work for pay deal to pay for here Clairvoyant training. She worked for us for 3 months, then began the training. By the time she graduated she was one of our best psychics, and helped up setup and run many outside exhibitions and readings at events, parties and places of business.
Nadine, has since began teaching some of the techniques in Singapore on her own, and although she has no plans to start her own school, she has a very successful private practice as a side-line to her "day" job.
Be Psychic (Singapore) is now closed for over 3 years, but I still receive reading requests, thank you's and requests for us to come back to Singapore to offer more training. Hello Singapore, I do hear you. We will be offering online classes soon, and perhaps in mid 2012 we may come for a few weeks to do some seminar versions of the Be Psychic classes.
